My style

So my hair was frustrating me, I really wanted to go buy some relaxer, slap it on and be done. It's so much easier than trying to figure out how to style my hair. I did the next best thing, I had my mom braid my hair and put extensions it. Pictures to come soon. I feel so much better about my hair

Patience...It really is a virtue.

So I understand the "patience is a virtue" statement. I've also learned that I DON'T have it!!! at all. This going natural thing will be a very difficult task for me because I don't have it. I'm still going to try and go natural for myself but it's going to be a very interesting ride.

Test 1- Partial Success

Hailey's hair a little bit easier for me to manage more than my hair right now so I tried out what I've read so far on her head and it worked. I used setting lotion mixed with water and a simple leave in conditioner to style her hair and for the most part I was able to detangle and comb through her hair without a big battle between me and her. Her curls started to come out really nice but again I wasn't using anything specific to bring out her curls so I'm pleased with how they turned out anyways. Best thing ever, her hair style stayed in, it wasn't frizzy or anything! Even after a long couple hours of hard play. I'm loving it.

Sucess for Hailey!!

So I've found something I can use in Hailey's hair that will allow me to clear out her hair without her fighting me. Setting Lotion! It never even crossed my mind to try setting lotion, mainly because I've never personally used it, but my mom uses it all the time. I tried it and it works, now to find something that will keep her hair moist without being greasy.

A little background.

I have had my hair relaxed since before I can remember but I will call it 14 yrs. I honestly don't know what my natural hair looks like, when  I was younger and even know, anytime that my natural hair started showing, on went the relaxer! So, yes I can say I WAS addicted to the "creamy crack", but that's all about to change. I had my last relaxer in Aug 2010, so I'm only 2 months into it and right now I'm itching to go buy some relaxer.

Hailey's hair is natural and I'm hoping to show her that she doesn't need a relaxer to be beautiful. Right now, her hair is extremely untamed and I'm hoping with my new found knowledge of maintaining my hair during and after the transition I find something to make her hair tamed and beautiful. Here we go!!
